Recipe from Shirley Crofts
INGREDIENTS:
1 Cube Butter
2 Cup Brown Sugar
1 Cup Karo Syrup
1 Can Sweetened Condensed Milk
1 tsp. Vanilla
Approximately 1 Cup Un-popped popcorn popped
DIRECTIONS:
1. Bring butter, brown sugar, and karo syrup to a boil stirring constantly.
2. Once mixture is boiling, stir in sweetened condensed milk and cook mixture to soft ball stage. (Test soft ball stage by spooning about 1/2 TBS of caramel mixture into small glass of cold water. Let caramel cool for about 15 seconds and if caramel is easily rolled into a small ball between fingers, it is done.)
3. Poor caramel mixture over popcorn about 1 cupful at a time while stirring popcorn with 2 wooden spoons until caramel coats all of popcorn.
4. Using plastic sandwich bags on hands to prevent caramel from sticking to fingers, form into balls and lay on waxed paper for about 5 minutes, then place each popcorn ball in its own sandwich bag.
5. Enjoy!
